THE COAST

West Somerset has many beaches to offer, with sandy beaches at Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor Bay forming around 7km of unbroken accessible coastline.

As well as sandy beaches, West Somerset is host to some fantastic shingle and fossil beaches. Porlock Wier offers a 4 mile long pebbly beach, comprised of a shingle ridge of “considerable archaeological and geographical significance”, and beaches such as Kilve and Doniford Bay are host to miles of tall Jurassic cliffs, resulting in popular fossil tourism.
